Christmas in Indiana
I took a trip to Indiana this Winter break (2017) to visit family. It was a long drive but it was worth it. It snowed the first night I was there and even more the following days. I haven’t seen snow like that since I was five or six years old. The snow was so beautiful as long as I was indoors. Going outside made the snow a little less beautiful. I live in South Georgia where it does not snow, its tropical year round so snow is something different for me. Usually, snow would shutdown everything in town because in South Georgia’s climate, cold turns roads into a icy hazard and we do not have snow tires or experience driving in that weather. But everywhere I looked, people in Indiana continued about there business. They did not let the snow get in their way at all. I found Indiana to be a completely different culture from mine which made it all the more fun to explore.
It was fun to visit family. Everyone was so excited to see each other. Grandma was running around like a chicken with her head cut off attending to everyone’s needs, cooking great food, cleaning, and being the awesome woman she is! She loves a house full of kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. She says these are her happiest moments.
I really enjoyed my time in Indiana over Winter break. There was snow, family, and great food!
